Three of Spurs’ defenders are injured, with Alan Hutton out for the season with a knee injury and Ledley King out until the end of May with a chronic groin problem: former Madrid centre-half Jonathan Woodgate has an ongoing calf problem but may make the trip to visit his old club.
As a result the Spurs back four is likely to include William Gallas, who has recovered from injury, Vedran Corluka and one of either Younes Kaboul or Sebastien Bassong.
Midfielder Wilson Palacios is out for at least another week with a knee problem.
Real rested several first-team players for the 3-0 Liga win at Athletic Bilbao at the weekend, bringing Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Ricardo Carvalho on the bench while in-form trio Mesut Ozil, Emmanuel Adebayor and Marcelo sat the match out altogether.
